The end of summer is coming.
I can feel it in the air.
Everyone is buying new books and supplies.
Kids think going to the pool is already kind of boring.
It’s just time to start the new year….
So, I’ve put together a list of five activities and crafts that you can do for the end of the summer, right before we sink back into the routine.

When things are getting desperate, it’s time to get creative!
We had a lot of fun building this tower, and we even managed to balance Jesse on top of a chair that was on top of our coffee table that was on top of the tower….
Just be careful and make sure to maintain the center of gravity properly.

In a few years, all the fun of this summer will be a long gone memory. Now is a great time to capture it.
You can place in your capsule photos, answers to questions about yourself (to remember what you were like) and a news item you think will be funny to remember in a few years from now.
It’s kind of old-school to do this activity, but there’s something so charming and fun about it, so I had to include this.
This activity is really just pure fun. No educational value here 🙂
It’s as simple as it sounds – you create your slingshot and shoot sweets around the room…
We made a video a while back that shows how to create the slingshot (we called it a rocket, because it sounded cooler…), so you can create it the same way and just fill it with whatever you’d like.
OK, this one is pretty darn cool.
Have any corks lying around the house? Maybe you’ve been drinking a bit during late nights with the kids driving you nuts…?
Well, you can create a miniature sail boat using the wine bottle corks.
It will teach the kids about buoyancy, and give you something to do with the corks.
I call that a win win.

Well, B Inspired Mama did a lot of hard work, and put together a compilation of ABC crafts letter by letter.
